SOLA is a boutique hotel in Ahangama, Sri Lanka, created for meaningful stays in the heart of nature.
Set within three acres of lush tropical jungle, our intimate hotel features just eight thoughtfully designed suites and a spacious open pavilion that blends seamlessly into the surrounding landscape.
A short distance from Ahangama’s beaches, surf spots and cafés, SOLA offers a peaceful sanctuary to slow down, reconnect with nature and experience Sri Lanka’s South Coast at a different pace.
When we discovered SOLA, the land was an active estate cultivated by local farmers, home to 150 coconut trees, a 1,000 sqm tea plantation and 500 sqm of cinnamon.
Since beginning our journey in 2021, we have planted additional tea and coffee alongside young rainforest trees, flame trees and a vibrant variety of tropical fruits. Today, the estate flourishes with pineapple, lemon, pepper, red and torch ginger, guava, rambutan, avocado, mango and more.
SOLA is also home to remarkable wildlife. Purple-faced langur monkeys, peacocks, mongooses and civets share the property with a diverse range of birdlife and butterflies.
Guests can join guided walks through the SOLA estate to discover its plants, wildlife and agricultural heritage, and experience the beauty and serenity of this natural sanctuary firsthand.
